Aberystwyth Physics Society

Welcome to Aberystwyth Physics Society! We are one of the biggest and most active academic societies at Aberystwyth University.
We hold weekly socials, regular academic lectures, trips and the annual Physoc Revue. Last year we held socials such as themed pub golf, computer game characters, and numerous pub crawls. We had guest lecturers visit us and took a trip to CERN in Switzerland to visit the Large Hadron Collider.
So far this year, we are planning on visiting ESA in Amsterdam, the Revue went off with a bang, and coming up is our first Pub Golf of the year!
We welcome everyone to join, Physicists and non-Physicists alike, email committee@aberphysoc.co.uk. to join.

PHYSOC Updates

PHYSOC Astronomy

Hello,

Hello, I am sorry that there has not been much going on in the way of astronomy last term. Keiron and myself had a busy term, and there was minimal clear nights.
I am however happy to announce that there is some good news on the astronomy front. Due to a terms worth of nagging, the technicians have cleared out the old radar hut up at Frongoch Farm.
After some cleaning and painting work( that Hannah and I started today) we will be able to store telescopes and have computers and internet access at the hut. This will enable us to have a nice location to go to do everything from simple observation sessions to long all night photography, from inside a warm hut!
At this years AGM, we will be creating two new committee positions, one a outreach officer, and an astronomy officer. If anyone would like to be astronomy officer next year, email me (stm7).
